The "padrinhos" (the wedding party), in Brazil, aren't picked  separately: the bridesmaids and groomsmen are picked as couples. They choose couples--married or not, they even match them up .They usually have three couples.

There are also two flower girls that take part in the wedding. One flower girl isn't really a flower girl but a ring bearer.

There are also ushers at the wedding to make sure that the ceremony goes smoothly and doesn't become all chaotic.
